Artist Statement:

Adinkra symbols originate in Ghana, West Africa. Every symbol has a meaning and a message. The quilts 30 symbols were fussy cut and raw-edged appliquéd with silk threads. Hundreds of white, black and red halfsquare
triangles form chain squared borders and dogtoothed sashing. The Adinkra sampler is an original design.
