Artist Statement:

I made this quilt for the 2019 International Quilt Festival's Comic Exhibit. I love the strong female images in the Black Panther movie and comic book, as well as Okoye's costume. I used repurposed jewelry, dollar store finds, beads, yarn, fabric paint, faux leather and lame to replicate costume.
