Racism: In the Face of Hate We Resist

Artist Statement:

The definition of pushing the envelope is to go beyond the normal limits, be extreme, cross lines, try things that were not acceptable in the past.

Pushing the envelope was originally a military term typically used for pilots while testing flight capabilities. I am a retired Air Force member, and the term was also used while climbing the ranks. We were encouraged to push for inclusion and to push for equality when faced with opposition.

We must continue to evolve in our quest for equality; we must continue to push the envelope and cross the lines others dare us to cross.

We have to be bold and push.
We have to be bold and take risks.
We have to be bold and stand up against society’s unjust norms.
We will keep Pushing the Envelope - our existence demands it.
