Artist Statement:

Included in the Minneapolis Police Department’s 5-100 Code of Conduct is an oath to protect and serve. My quilt specifically demonstrates the violations to this code that led to the death of Mr. George Floyd on May 25, 2020. A span of eight minutes and 46 seconds has transformed hearts and minds around the world and is altering the trajectory of law enforcement history. Words Matter. Actions Matter. Black Lives Matter.
