Twelve applique blocks from Delft Blue, a Piecing the Past pattern, Pennsylvania Chain, a variation of Single Irish Chain, Generations Quilt Patterns, five applique blocks in the style of those in Delft Blue and the serpentine border with applique tulips - original.
Artist Statement:
The "Delft Blue" pattern had elements I love: blue and white, Delft tiles and appliqué. But the finished size was too small and the design lacked excitement. Using a modified Irish Chain as sashing between the blocks and creating a border of vines with tulips solved both of these issues.
