Artist Statement:

The brown pelican changes color with age, and can have beautiful grays, yellows, whites and velvety greens. I wanted to reproduce some of the beautiful young and aging pelicans I've photographed. They are the major focus of the piece. I used 12 weight thread for free motioning pelicans in the background.
