Artist Statement:

My first competition piece was an eagle with my grandmother's poem hand embroidered on the front as a conversation piece with her. It took years to come to fruition with fabric selection, drafting, hand embroidery, machine piecing, trapunto, hand appliqué and hand quilting. Her poem is on the back.
