Artist Statement:
Refuge was inspired by two benches near a large tree at Olbrich Gardens in Madison. I used a projector to enlarge and transfer my drawing to fabric. Small pieces of cottons and batiks were fused to a painted background, and 40 wt. thread was used with free motion quilting. An orange strip added a pop to the binding.
