Artist Statement:
American society lauds certain professions over others. Teachers, librarians, artists, counselors, historians, humanities scholars and social workers are all important to society, yet they are consistently ignored, under-resourced and scorned. I used a traditional trapunto technique to surface these invisibilized professions that are truly essential to a functional society.
