Artist Statement:
Alone in the desert, Leonard Hoch sensed an ominous presence. Surveying the desolate surroundings, he spotted this pygmy owl glaring at him from a sheltered branch. The tiny creature might have fit in his palm with room to spare had Len been willing to offer his hand in friendship.
